Review & Giveaway: Casetagram custom cases

Some like it flashy, some like it hardy and others may prefer it plain and simple. Make no mistake, I am talking about handphone covers here! If you are like me, you are constantly on the lookout for that “perfect” handphone cover. And for me, that means a cover that is affordable, fashionable and helps keep the phone in good condition by preventing scratches!

I was recently introduced to Casetagram – which offers custom cases for your handphones and iPads. Founded just two years ago in 2011, Casetagram is the world’s very first in using your Facebook and Instagram photos to customize these cases! And for an Instagram addict like me, it was perfect! What more “fashionable” and instantly distinguishable handphone case than one that features my kids?

There are two ways to customise your case – either via Casetagram’s website or download their app for free from the App Store. Since I use an Android phone and most of my photos are stored on my computer, I went with the website option. I did download the app on my iPad mini to give it a spin, and it is as easy to use!

Phone covers are available for: iPhone 5/4S/4, iPod Touch 5/4, iPad Mini, iPad 3/2, Google Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy 4/3/2, and Samsung Note 2/1.

Select the case type, and you can thrown a variety of different layouts to work from!

I enjoyed clicking around and seeing how the different layouts would work – and check out the matchy-matchy couple cover. Too cute! Too bad I am a Samsung user and the hubs uses the iPhone, so we can’t get this.

Once you settle on the layout, it is then time to get the photos. Log into your Instagram and Facebook account to grab the photos from there, or directly upload the photos from your computer or iDevice (if you are using the App). Real simple, and you can have loads of fun seeing how it would look!

Each photo added in can also be further edited – zoom in or out, shift or delete (notice the four small icons on each corner as you select the photo?)

And once the photos are laid and you are happy with it – you can choose the colour of the cover, and any other filters as you may fancy.

It took me about two nights to finally choose the right photos and to get everything right to my heart’s content, and thankfully my progress and photos could be easily saved on the web by creating a simple log-in account. In the end, I decided to go with the third cover above!

Check out… and just wait for the package to arrive! They even ship international (hurray for me in Sydney!) for free!

If creating a montage of your own photos isn’t something you fancy, you can also check out the designer collection. I was pretty impressed by the range offered! It is really so pretty!

Well, I received my spanking new case about three weeks back, and have been using it ever since!

Casetagram 1

These are the photos I took last Sunday at Luna Park, Sydney – a good three weeks since I received and used the phone cover. It looks exactly like how I created it to be! Which is good, as I shifted some pictures to make allowance for the camera opening and all, and it came out beautifully. It has a matte finish and even after three weeks, it looks as good as new. The fit is also very good, and it feels nice and snug for my Samsung.

The main gripe I had was that the photos looked a little like stickers on a black background, but of course it has survived several attempts by Xavier to “peel” off the stickers – he is into a sticker-peeling rampage of late! So the cover has been “toddler-tested” and came out well.

And now… the good news! Casetagram is offering a $40 voucher for ONE very lucky reader, to get their own customised case! To enter, simply use the Rafflecopter below and follow the easy steps. This is also an international giveaway, and will end at 12 midnight on Sunday, 8 September 2013.
